Дорогі браття і сестри!
Христос Воскрес!
На землі немає більшого нещастя, ніж смерть. Ніщо не викликає в нас такого страху, як смерть. Сьогодні ми святкуємо умертвіння смерті, початок іншого – вічного життя.
Що було б з людським родом, якби Господь наш Ісус Христос не подолав смерть? Існувало б людство чи ні? Існувало б! Але як існувало б? Так, як існує і буде існувати диявол і злі духи. Так і людський рід існував би. Існував би душею. А тіло перетворилося б на порох і повернулося б у землю, із якої воно було створене. Душа б існувала, але вічно страждала б, а тіло перетворилося б у землю. Така доля була в людства після гріхопадіння Адама і Єви. Людство існувало б душею, але вічно страждало б. А тепер? Що дало людству Воскресіння Христове? Воскресіння Христове докорінно змінило долю людства і, зокрема, долю кожного з нас. Замість смерті і страждань воно дарувало нам життя і блаженство.
Ми хоч і помираємо, але віримо, і твердо віримо, що не тільки будемо існувати душею, але й тілом. Коли? Після загального воскресіння мертвих! Буде воно чи не буде? Буде! Бо так сказав Бог. А Бог є Істина. Пам’ятаєте слова Ісуса Христа, Який сказав: “Я є Істина!”?
Ми не тільки будемо існувати душею і тілом, але будемо блаженствувати. Більше того, ми можемо стати богами. Пам’ятаєте слова, сказані Богом Мойсею: “Ви боги”? Але боги не по природі, а по благодаті. По природі Бог – один, у Тройці прославлюваний, а по благодаті богів безліч. Хто вони? Це – святі: пророки, апостоли, святителі, мученики, преподобні і праведні.
Не дивуйтеся цьому, що святі є боги. Святі воскрешали мертвих, звершували інші чудеса, не властиві людській природі. Це і означає, що люди стали богами по благодаті. Що значить: по благодаті? Це означає, що святі звершували і звершують чудеса не своєю людською силою, а – Божественною, яка живе і перебуває в них.
І люди в Царстві Божому не страждають, а блаженствують, а раніше страждали і до смерті і після смерті.
Усе це: і подолання смерті, і блаженство – є результатом Воскресіння Христового. Не було б Воскресіння Христового – не було б ні вічного життя людей душею і тілом, не було б і блаженства. А тепер усе це є. У Царстві Небесному всі блаженствують! Правда, поки що тільки душею. Але після загального воскресіння мертвих будуть блаженствувати і тілом, бо так сказав Бог в Євангелії.
Тому сьогодні ми святкуємо умертвіння смерті і початок іншого – вічного життя.
Але після Воскресіння Христового не всі блаженствують, і не всі будуть блаженствувати. Воскреснуть усі, а блаженствуватимуть не всі. Чому? Тому що грішники не хочуть входити в Царство Боже. А Бог силою не затягує в Царство Боже. Двері в Царство Боже відкриті. Хто хоче – входить, а хто не хоче – той залишається поза Царством Божим. І це його вибір!
Цього року ми святкуємо Воскресіння Христове в умовах коронавірусу. Господь попустив цю біду за наші гріхи. Господь попускає страждання заради нашого спасіння. У стражданнях людина частіше звертається до Бога за допомогою і кається у гріхах. Але, страждаючи, не треба падати духом і зневірятися у кращому і доброму. Ісус Христос заради нашого спасіння теж страждав, але після страждань і смерті воскрес. Так і в нашому житті після страждань буває радість. Господь хоч і карає за гріхи, але і милує.
Своїм воскресінням Христос дає нам силу для боротьби з гріхом і воскрешає наші душі. Віра у воскресіння мертвих надихає нас на самовіддане служіння Богу і Церкві, своєму народу і Українській державі в ім’я любові до Христа Спасителя і людини.
У ці радісні пасхальні дні вітаю вас, преосвященні архіпастирі, боголюбиві пастирі, чесне чернецтво, улюблені браття і сестри, зі святом Воскресіння Христового. Вітаю з Пасхою Христовою Президента України Володимира Зеленського, Верховну Раду, Український уряд, наших славних захисників – Збройні сили України, які не шкодують свого життя заради любові до своєї Батьківщини. Вітаю з нашим найбільшим християнським святом весь український народ і всіх українців, які перебувають за межами України – в Європі, Америці і Канаді, Латинській Америці й Австралії, на всіх континентах, але люблять Україну і допомагають їй.
Молитовно бажаю, щоб Воскреслий Христос зміцнив наші душевні й тілесні сили і дарував нам благодатну допомогу на добрі діла. Нехай ніхто і ніщо не затьмарить нашої духовної радості.
Будемо молитися і благати Воскреслого Христа, щоб Він припинив цю біду – коронавірус – в Україні і в усьому світі і дарував нам мирне, спокійне і благополучне життя. Йому належить честь і поклоніння навіки-віків. Амінь.

Dear Brothers and Sisters!
Christ Is Risen!
There is no greater misery on earth than death. Nothing causes us such fear as death. Today we celebrate the killing of death and the beginning of another, eternal life.
What would happen to the human race if our Lord Jesus Christ did not overcome death? Would humanity exist or not? There would be! But how would it exist? Yes, as the devil and evil spirits exist and will exist. And the human race would exist. There would be a soul. And the body would turn to dust and return to the earth from which it was created. The soul would exist, but it would suffer forever, and the body would turn to earth. Such was the fate of mankind after the fall of Adam and Eve. Mankind would exist as a soul, but it would suffer forever. And now? What did the Resurrection of Christ give to humanity? The resurrection of Christ radically changed the destiny of mankind and, in particular, the destiny of each of us. Instead of death and suffering, it gave us life and bliss.
Although we are dying, we believe, and we firmly believe, that we will exist not only in soul but also in body. When? After the general resurrection of the dead! Will it or will it not? It will be! Because that is what God said. And God is the Truth. Remember the words of Jesus Christ, who said, “I am the truth!”
We will not only exist in soul and body, but we will be blissful. Moreover, we can become gods. Remember the words God said to Moses, “You are gods”? But the gods are not by nature, but by grace. By nature God is one, glorified in the Trinity, and by the grace of the gods many. Who are they? These are saints: prophets, apostles, saints, martyrs, saints and the righteous.
Do not be surprised that the saints are gods. The saints raised the dead, performed other miracles that are not inherent in human nature. This means that people became gods by grace. What does it mean: by grace? This means that the saints performed and still perform miracles not by their human power, but by the Divine, who lives and is in them.
And people in the Kingdom of God do not suffer, but are blissful, and before they suffered both before death and after death.
All this, both overcoming death and bliss, is the result of Christ’s Resurrection. There would be no Resurrection of Christ – there would be no eternal life of people in body and soul, there would be no bliss. And now it’s all there. In the Kingdom of Heaven, all are blessed! However, so far only the soul. But after the general resurrection of the dead, they will also be blessed in the flesh, because that is what God said in the Gospel.
That is why today we celebrate the killing of death and the beginning of another, eternal life.
But after the Resurrection of Christ, not all are blessed, and not all will be blessed. All will be resurrected, but not all will be blessed. Why? Because sinners do not want to enter the Kingdom of God. And God does not drag by force into the Kingdom of God. The door to the Kingdom of God is open. He who wants to enter, and he who does not want to remain outside the Kingdom of God. And this is his choice!
This year we celebrate the Resurrection of Christ in the context of the coronavirus. The Lord allowed this trouble for our sins. The Lord allows suffering for our salvation. In suffering, a person often turns to God for help and repents of his sins. But, suffering, one should not lose heart and despair of the best and good. Jesus Christ also suffered for our salvation, but was resurrected after suffering and death. So in our lives after suffering there is joy. Although the Lord punishes sins, He also has mercy.
By His resurrection, Christ gives us the strength to fight sin and resurrects our souls. Faith in the resurrection of the dead inspires us to selflessly serve God and the Church, our people and the Ukrainian state in the name of love for Christ the Savior and man.
On these joyful Easter days, I greet you, Most Reverend Archpastors, God-loving Shepherds, honest monks, beloved brothers and sisters, on the feast of the Resurrection of Christ. Congratulations on Easter to the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, the Verkhovna Rada, the Ukrainian Government, our glorious defenders – the Armed Forces of Ukraine, who do not spare their lives for the love of their homeland. Congratulations on our greatest Christian holiday to all the Ukrainian people and all Ukrainians who are outside Ukraine – in Europe, America and Canada, Latin America and Australia, on all continents, but love Ukraine and help it.
I pray that the Risen Christ will strengthen our mental and physical strength and give us gracious help for good deeds. Let no one and nothing overshadow our spiritual joy.
We will pray and implore the Risen Christ to stop this calamity – the coronavirus – in Ukraine and around the world and give us a peaceful, calm and prosperous life. He has the honor and worship forever and ever. Amen.
